GRANT MANAGER

Position Overview:

The Grant Manager within the Development Department at BGHFoundation is a key position responsible for managing and optimizing the grant acquisition process. Reporting to the Director of Development, this role involves researching potential grant opportunities, developing compelling grant proposals, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. The Grant Manager plays a pivotal role in securing financial resources to support the organization's mission.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Grant Research and Identification:

  1. Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and objectives.
  2. Stay informed about funding trends, grant cycles, and opportunities in the nonprofit sector.

Proposal Development:

  1. Develop high-quality grant proposals, including detailed budgets, program descriptions, and other necessary documentation.
  2. Collaborate with program staff to gather information and insights that strengthen grant applications.
  3. Tailor proposals to meet the specific requirements and preferences of each funding opportunity.

Grant Management:

  1. Manage the entire grant lifecycle, from initial application to reporting and compliance.
  2. Ensure timely submission of grant proposals and reports, adhering to deadlines and requirements.
  3. Track and report on grant outcomes and impact, providing updates to leadership and funders.

Relationship Building:

  1. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with grant-making organizations, foundations, and other funding entities.
  2. Communicate effectively with funders, responding to inquiries and providing necessary information.

Collaboration with Departments:

  1. Collaborate with program staff, finance, and other departments to gather information and insights for grant proposals and reports.
  2. Ensure alignment between grant-funded activities and organizational objectives.

Budget Management:

  1. Work closely with the finance department to develop accurate and realistic budgets for grant proposals.
  2. Monitor budget expenditures and ensure compliance with grant budget guidelines.

Compliance and Reporting:

  1. Ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting obligations.
  2. Prepare and submit accurate and timely grant reports, detailing programmatic and financial outcomes.

Continuous Improvement:

  1. Stay informed about best practices in grant management and fundraising.
  2. Continuously improve grant writing and management processes based on feedback and lessons learned.

They also cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, ensuring ongoing support.
